Prime Minister Rama said Tirana is expected to have a major economic impact thanks to Canye West, citing a figure of about 100m euros.

The experience of recent years shows that concerts of the best-known artists, the Forum 1 competitions and events like Eurovision are not only cultural or sports events. They are an industry that generates hundreds of millions, even billions of euros, increasing tourism, consumption, employment and international promotion of host cities.

Form 1 is among the events that bring the world's greatest economic impact. Each race attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, large investments, and an economic activity that extends to almost every sector.

Top of the list is Las Vegas Grand Prix, with an estimated economic impact of between 1.2 billion and 1.5 billion US dollars. The 2024 edition alone generated some $934 million, according to an applied Analysis report, ranking as the second most profitable weekend for the city's post-Bawl economy.

The Miami Grand Prix competition also generates between $350 and $450 million, and Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne brings between $200 million and $300 million each year to the local economy.

Even Eurovision has proved that a music event can turn into a powerful economic engine.

In Liverpool, the city that organised Eurovision 2023, an independent study of AMON Consulting, concluded that the event created 54.8 million pounds of net economic impact. During the week of the festival, 306 thousand additional visitors arrived, while Eurovision-related activities attracted 473 thousand participants. The hotel registered 175 thousand nights stay, the top record for May since 2018, while economic activity created the equivalent of 611 full-time jobs.

In Malmö, which hosted Eurovision 2024, Swedish authorities reported about 100,000 visitors during the festival week. Hotels functioned almost at maximum capacity, while economic impact was estimated at around 500 million Swedish corals, or approximately 4347m euros.

Even greater was the effect on Basel, host of Eurovision 2025. The official report confirmed that the event generated 248 million Swiss francs in Switzerland's economy. The Basel region alone benefited 53 million additional francs, while the economic impact directly was estimated at 91.2 million Swiss francs. During the week of the festival, the grab of hotels exceeded 95%, more than 50 thousand nights of stay and Eurovision activities withdrew over 500,000 turnout.

The years 2025 and 2026 showed that economic impact is not limited to sports competitions or international festivals.

Oasis' long - awaited restoration in 2025 became an economic phenomenon in the United Kingdom. According to UK Music, during 24.7 million musical tourists attended concerts and festivals, spending 11.2 billion pounds in the economy. Only the Oasis Live Live 25 won over a billion pounds of economic activity, while average spending for each participant reached 766 pounds.

Another record was set by Coldplay, who held 10 concerts at London's Wimbledon Stadium. Only by the sale of tickets were over $131m, while hundreds of thousands of visitors brought a significant increase in activity for hotels, restaurants and public transportation.

The year 2026 has brought similar examples. Bad Bunny held 10 concerts at Madrid's Metropolitan Stadium, with Spanish authorities praising the economic impact of about 200m euros. The benefits were distributed to the hotel sector, restaurants, transportation, and trade, thanks to the tens of thousands of international tourists who visited the city.

In France, Céline Dion's concertary residence in Paris is considered one of the most important economic events of the year. The forecasts speak of an economic impact of between 570m and 1 billion euros, about 450 thousand spectators, and an increase of up to 400% of hotel reservations in the La Défense area.
