Bonnie Tyler, 80's pop music icon, and the sound of the “Total Eclipse of the Heart”

Bonnie Tyler, the singer from Wales, whose powerful but strong voice turned songs like the Total Eclipse of the Heart in the classic 1980s, has changed lives at 75 years of age.
A release notice on her Facebook page reads: “The family and Bonnie's team are saddened to report that Bonnie suddenly passed away at a hospital in Portugal last night, as a result of the disease she was treating”.
In May, Tyler underwent urgent intestine surgery at a hospital near Faros, Portugal, where he lived. Then she was placed in an educated coma to help doctors in the recovery process. She later woke up from the coma, but her representative indicated that she remained “in very serious and intensive care”.

In addition to the 1983 hit, Total Eclipse of the Heart, which reached first place in the U.S. and the United Kingdom and is considered by many as one of the largest ballists of all time, Tyler also succeeded with the songs Holding Out for a Hero, which became part of the Footloose film sound column and came to second place at British tops in 1984, as well as with the Heartache, which brought him the first major success in 1977.

Born Gaynor Hopkins in the village of Skewen near Swanseas, Tyler grew up in a social residence along with five older brothers and sisters.
I consider myself a working-class girl and I never stopped working,” she declared herself to The Guardian in 2013. “Get a lot of concerts because I think many people would like to have the opportunity that has been given to me”.
Her musical career began modestly. She sang versions of popular songs in local clubs while working in a grocery store. One talent scout heard one evening performing Freda Payne's Band of Gold. After that, he recorded a bull to send to record houses and, after two years, was signed by RCA Records, taking the artistic name Bonnie Tyler.
Her first song was unsuccessful, but the second, Lost in France, was ranked in the top ten in the United Kingdom. The next song, More Than a Lover, also had moderate success.
After a successful operation to remove joints on vocal cords, Tyler said my <x0ndre became more tight than before and took on more force”. This was what made the interpretation of the song Ités a Heartache ideal, which became its first major hit in the United States, ranking third there and fourth in the United Kingdom.

Tyler testified that she was a very comprehensive artist, moving from the ballads with the country elements in the dissco-pop songs, like the 1979 hit of The World is Full of) married Men, registered for visualizing the novel with the same name as Jackie Collins.
However, she wanted to switch to rock music and approached composer Jim Steinman, known for his successful collaboration with Meat Loaf.
Steinman was impressed by Tyler, and he entrusted the song Total Eclipse of the Heart, a decision that caused the jealousy of Meat Loaf, according to reports. Tyler had told a friend at the time: “Today I recorded an extraordinary song. The problem is it's so long, I don't think anyone will ever broadcast it. ”
