With tankers and tractors before the Ministry, milk farmers protest today

Kosovar milk farmers will protest today, starting at 1: 00 p.m., in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in Pristina, as a sign of dissatisfaction with the situation created in the milk sector.
The decision to organise the protest was made by the Association of Kosovo Milky Farmers, which has described the protest as necessary following the break-up of fresh milk from farms, which, according to them, seriously jeopardises the existence of many local producers.
The protest comes even after the temporary closure of the milk processing factory"Vita"in Istog, following an action of authorities.
Farmers have made it known that tractors, agricultural vehicles, and canisters of milk will participate in the protest, while citizens are also invited to bring in the bison, as free milk will be distributed during the protest.
Through the protest, they demand that institutions take immediate measures to overcome the crisis and have submitted three key demands:
-the immediate re-launching of fresh milk from farms;
- The urgent publication of analysis results, in order to remove doubts about the quality of local products;
- Returning the previous price of milk, stressing that the price cut is taking many farms to bankruptcy.
Farmers say they have not received concrete answers from responsible institutions so far, and that the protest aims to draw the authorities' attention to the burdened situation in the milk production sector, which they say needs urgent intervention to avoid even greater consequences for local producers.
