Shutting down “Vita”, reacts LBK: Businesses are not the subject of political experiments

The Kosovo Business Connection has reacted sharply to the closure of the milk station “Vita”, naming it a direct blow to the country's economy, domestic production and business climate following Albin Kurti's drive of power towards the company
Kosovo Business League Chairman Besart Dreselj said that “Vita” is one of the most important local producers, who, according to him, owns all certificates and meets the required standards for operation, transmits Periscopi.
“The ITA is not just a company issue, but a serious blow to Kosovo's economy. When a manufacturer meeting standards and owns all certificates faces such measures, trust in institutions and in the climate of doing business is damaged. Any minister and institutional official must understand that such decisions do no honor to the institutions, to the politics and to the Republic of Kosovo”, wrote Dreshai on Facebook.
He stressed that the consequences of this decision affect not only the company but also hundreds of workers, farmers and suppliers connected to the milk - producing chain.
The closure of one of the largest local producers endangers hundreds of jobs, damages farmers and the entire supply chain. These actions are weakening local production, jeopardising the loss of domestic and foreign markets and creating room for increasing imports instead of supporting our producers”, he said.
According to Dresaj, such developments constitute a negative signal even for local and foreign investors, undermining economic stability and confidence in Kosovo's business environment.
“Institutions must clearly understand: businesses are not subject to political experiments or decisions that destroy local production. Kosovo is not built by closing the factories, but by protecting them. Law enforcement means yes, but not selectively, not pressure, and not decisions that destroy the economy enough with access to local producers and the country's business climate”, the LBK chairman stressed.
In the end, Dresaj indicated that the League of Businesses of Kosovo will continue to stand firm in the defence of local producers, jobs and economic development in the country, calling on institutions to act responsibly and in the interest of Kosovo's economy.
