US, Iran Start Technical Talks to Provide Peace Agreements, Resumption of Sea Transport

The US and Iran held technical talks in Doha on Wednesday, as they seek to agree on the flow of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and ensure a lasting ceasefire, a source of direct knowledge of talks and an Iranian official said.
US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kouchner and envoy Steve Whitoff met with Qatar's prime minister - a mediator in talks together with Pakistan - to lay the foundation for the negotiations, but would not participate themselves in discussions, the source with direct knowledge of the talks said.
The talks are based on a 14-point interim agreement signed last month aimed at halting the war that began with US-Israel attacks on Iran in February and reopening Hormuz Strait, while appointing 60 days of negotiations for a permanent peace deal.
However, US and Iran have been publicly debated on the understanding of the interim pact, leading to face-to-face military attacks over the past week,Telegraphy reports, broadcast Periscope
Iran is determined to gain international recognition of its control over the strait and its ability to impose tariffs for ships entering or leaving the Gulf, even if it must do so by force, two senior Iranian sources said Wednesday.
Traffic has been partially resumed through the strait, which dealt with a fifth of the global oil and natural gas trade before the war. /Periscope/
