How are negotiations going between the US and Iran?

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has stated in a speech on Mount Rushmore that Iran is “vdes to calm”, adding that the US “gave them a week off for a funeral, because we are polite”.
His statement comes in a period of tensions and indirect talks between Tehran and Washington, which were held in Doha in Qatar and have included discussions on the security situation in the region.
According to officials, recent meetings between American and Iranian negotiators have marked positive progress, though the process remains in early stages.
Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansar said the meetings in Doha have been constructive and that the next round of talks will be scheduled after the end of the mortal ceremonies for the former Iranian Supreme Leader.
Even the US vice president, JD Vance, said the talks are moving in the right direction, but stressed that it is still early for completion.
Meanwhile, other diplomatic developments have also been reported in the Middle East, where Lebanon and Israel have signed a US-brokered agreement, although field clashes have continued.
Similarly, Syria's Foreign Minister has paid a visit to Beirut for talks with Lebanese officials on his first official visit following recent developments in the region.
