Two Kosovo football players on German club radar, Lucternelli seeks reunification

Union Berlin is aiming to reinforce the midfield for the new season, while on the radar of the German club, two players who were crucial to FC Thun's success under the direction of coach Mauro Lusternelli.
According to Swiss and German media reports Lustrianelli, who led Thun to the championship title in Switzerland last season, wants to rejoin the players who were the main pillars of that success, to build a competing team in Bundesliga.
On the coach's list of wishes are Valmir Matoshi, Kosovo's representative, and Kastriot Imer, Switzerland's representative. The two midfielders were among Thun's key figures during the historic title winning season, forming an important pair in the midfield and playing a decisive role in the team's stability and creativity.
Lustrianelli intends to have this double back at the Berlin Union, believing that their knowledge of philosophy and its game system would facilitate the team's adaptation to Bundesliga.
Matoshi was one of Thun's most prominent players last season and is considered a profile that fits the Luctrinell game ideally. On the other hand, Imer contributed balance and creativity to the midfield department throughout the campaign.
26-year-old Mattosi held 30 performances in the championship, marking six goals and registering eight assistings. However, the two footballers remain under contract with their current clubs, meaning that any possible transfer will depend on negotiations during the upcoming summer deadline.
