Konjufca, Callas: Make clear to Serbia that with such statements EU

First Deputy Prime Minister and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore Glauk Konjufca has sent a letter to European Union High Representative Kaya Kallas, following Serbian Minister Snezana Paunovic's statement, which said that, if it were in place of Slobodan Milosevic, it would carry out “ethnic cleansing” in Kosovo.
In the letter, Konjufca estimated that the Serbian government's later distance was only formal and not sincere expressions of regret, Periscope reports.
He also expresses concern for the EU's delayed response, demanding a clearer and more firm attitude towards rhetoric that, according to him, promotes hatred and undermines the dialogue process.
Konjufca also outlined a list of requests seeking to publicly condemn the declaration of Minister Snezana Paunovic to remind Serbian authorities that such statements conflict with European values and raise this issue in political dialogue and in Serbia's European Union membership process.
“issue a clear, powerful and public sentence on the Paunovic and revisionist rhetoric declaration it represents”.
“T] formally remind the Serbian authorities that such statements are unacceptable and incompatible with European values and with the requirements of the European Union membership process”.
“to raise this issue in the right way within the context of political dialogue between the European Union and Serbia, as well as in the membership process, so that Belgrade can understand the seriousness with which the European Union deals with such incidents”, Conjufca said in the letter to Kallas.
