The epidemic following water contamination in Gostivar, the number of patients again increases

The number of patients seeking medical services continues to rise as a result of drinking water consumption in Gostivar, northern Macedonia.
Authorities there have declared the state of the water - contaminated epidemic until the situation continues to be severe for nonwater - supplied residents.
Just a day ago, the number of patients again has been marked, with 125 people seeking medical help.
From the beginning, there are over 14,000 citizens who have sought medical assistance.
Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Hrstjan Mickoski has said that water supply for Gostivar can be returned from Monday, but only for technical purposes.
Let's say that tomorrow a statement is published that water is technically suitable for use, since it has been adjusted in record time of a week”, Mickoski said.
To achieve this, the teams of the “pipeline from Skopje are working in Gostivar, while the city continues to consume only ambalized water and use water cleanup to suit the government or other municipalities.
As for the investigation into the case, Mickoski has stressed that the prosecution has already identified responsibility for polluting the water supply system, but investigations will continue if the need arises to determine additional responsibilities.
In Gostivar it has been declared an epidemic following the increasing number of citizens affected by contaminated water, while the government has declared a 30-day crisis for managing the situation.
This was after thousands of residents sought medical assistance, while criminal investigations uncovered allegations of illegal intervention in the water supply system, where a pump was allegedly introduced from the Vardar River to the main pipeline.
Three people are in custody for 30 days on suspicion of water pollution, while tests have shown that there were 48 times more bacteria in the water than allowed values.
