Andy Burnham expected to be next prime minister of the United Kingdom

Andy Burnham has taken a major step towards the leadership of the Labour Party in the United Kingdom and the post of prime minister, as the overwhelming majority of lab MPs have supported his candidacy to replace Keir Starmer.
Of 402 lab deputies, 322 have nominated Burnham for party leaders.
He is currently the only declared candidate and needs only one support to reach the minimum threshold of 323 nominations, writes BBC
If no other candidate is presented, as expected, Burnham is expected to be announced as the new Labus leader next week and take over the prime minister's post on 20 July.
This would mark an extraordinary political rise for Burnham, who until recently was the mayor of the Grand Manchester municipality. He has thanked MPs who have backed him, saying this represents a request for a new “approach to politics” in Britain. /Periscope/
