A SK: Annual inflation in Kosovo reaches 6 per cent, transport and energy with greater growth

Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the Consumption Awards Index (IHÇK) for June 2026, under which annual inflation has reached 6.0 per cent, while a drop of 0.1 per cent has been registered on monthly basis.
According to the AKS, annual price hikes have been largely influenced by the expensive transportation of 13.7 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 11.1 percent, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 5.1 percent, restaurants and accommodation services by 4.5 percent, and health by 4.1 percent.
Price increases are also recorded in nonalcohol food and drink at 3.9 percent, personal care and services at 3.2 percent, furniture and household equipment at 3.0 percent, clothing and shoes at 2.3 percent, recreation, sports, and culture at 2.0 percent, and information and communication by 0.2 percent.
On the other hand, annual price reduction is recorded only in educational services, with 0.5 percent.
Compared to May, the consumer price index has seen an average decline of 0.1 per cent. This has largely been influenced by lowering food prices and non-alcohol beverages by 0.5 percent, as well as housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel fuels by 0.3 percent.
Meanwhile, monthly prices in recreation, sports, and culture (0.8 percent), educational services (0.5 percent), personal care and services (0.4 percent), transportation (0.3 percent), alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics (0.2 percent), furniture and household equipment (0.2 percent), restaurants and accommodation services (0.2 percent), clothing and shoes (0.1 percent), and health (0.1 percent).
The ASK reports that publication has been carried out by implementing the new COICOP 2018 ranking, with a 2025-based year = 100 and up-to-date methodology. /Periscope/
