US warns finalisation of deal with Iran this weekend

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that the agreement between Iran and the US on halting fighting could be finalised this weekend. Bessent became the last figure by the Trump administration to talk about the possible peace agreement with Iran.
In an interview for Fox News, Bessent said that “perhaps this weekend or Monday, we will be on the other side of this” issue.
Bessent added that the deal would result in lower energy prices for Americans, voicing confidence that the challenging time will pass.
Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shebas Sharif, said Friday that the United States and Iran have agreed to form an agreement aimed at ending their fight in the Middle East and that mediators are working with both sides to finalise the deal. He said Pakistan, which has taken the lead in mediation efforts, is working with warring countries for further steps.
The apparent progress in negotiations comes after Iran exchanged fire with the US and Israel over three days this week, threatening to turn the Middle East into a full fight.
