Trump: War in Ukraine could have ended in one day

US President Donald Trump has declared that Russia was able to complete the war in Ukraine on the first day of the occupation, but a wrong military decision prevented its advance towards Kiev.
Speaking of the beginning of the conflict, the American leader said Russian forces had a large number of tanks moving towards the Ukrainian capital through a strong and adequate highway for the movement of heavy vehicles.
Had they continued on that road, they would have been in Kiev in a few hours”, he said, claiming that Ukraine would not have stopped at that moment.
According to him, a Russian commander decided that the main road would instead be used, troops would pass through agricultural areas and mud terrains. Trump said that heavy rainfall several days ago caused Russian tanks to get stuck in hard terrain.
The US president also recalled that during his period as president, the US had supplied Ukrainian forces with antitank Yavelin missiles, which he said were used to hit Russian tanks.
They say I'm good with Russia. I'm not. I have been very tough with Russia”, the 80-year-old said, stressing that military assistance to Ukraine affected the ban on Russian advancement.
He said satellite images had shown large columns of tanks blocked for days and that the antitank rifles caused great losses to the Russian Army.
Trump named the situation a terrible “Russia's” and said the destruction of Russian tanks gave Ukrainians more confidence to continue the resistance.
Trump's statements come within the context of continuing discussions about the war in Ukraine and how the first weeks of conflict were held. /Periscope/
