(24 days ago)Prison police have taken Ilir Meta out of his cell this Tuesday and will escort him to the village of Chapan in Scrapari, where former president of the Republic of Albania will bid his father's last farewell, Rexhep Meta.
Meta left his cell at 313 prison at 7: 00 a.m. this morning.
The former president's father was separated from life yesterday, June 1st. After this serious family event for the former head of state, his lawyer requested permission from the Special Prosecutor against Corruption and Organised Crime (SPAK) for his client to temporarily leave his cell to attend the mortary ceremony. After the lawyer's request, permission has been approved.
Former President Meta has been in custody since October 2024, charged with three criminal acts: hiding wealth, money laundering and corruption. /Periscope/
