Operation “White Star”: Five arrested, weapons, drugs, thousands of euros and 10 vehicles seized.

Five people have been arrested under police operation “White Star”, which took place on Tuesday in several Kosovo regions, under special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Police.
The event is conducted in Pristina, Pec, Prizren, Year and Drenas, based on orders issued by the Constitutional Court and under special Prosecution Monitoring.
According to authorities, the five suspects have been detained for 48 hours at the special prosecutor's decision, under suspicion of involvement in criminal acts of participation or organisation of organised criminal group, purchase, possession, distribution and unauthorised narcotics sales, and money laundering.
“Five persons have been detained by the special prosecutor's decision for 48 hours, under suspicion of involvement in criminal acts: participation or organisation of the organised criminal group, purchase, ownership, distribution and unauthorised narcotics sale, as well as money laundering”, authorities say.
During the search at the betting locations, evidence and considerable wealth have been seized, including six firearms, five rounds, 239 rounds, 9.67 grams of cocaine and 35.18 grams of suspected marijuana seeds.
In addition, authorities have confiscated 7,595 euros in cash, 25 mobile phones, 10 vehicles, one motorcycle, 10 computers, 13 USB, one DVR and 16 hours of hands.
“During implementation of the command-control has been found and seized relevant evidence and property specified”, further said in the communique.
The operation is backed by Europol and Belgium, France and the Netherlands' law enforcement authorities. Representatives of these institutions, together with the case prosecutor, have been closely monitoring the development of the operation.
In the end, Kosovo Special Prosecutor and Police have re-exerted their commitment to fighting organised crime.
“Special Procurory and Kosovo Police reaffirm commitment to fighting organised crime and strengthening rule of law”, the communique notes.
Authorities have indicated that investigations concerning the case “White Star” are continuing.
