Protest for Zrvenci enters 24th day, citizens protest before prime minister

Today's 24th protest against the planned Zvrinec project took place in Tirana.
Citizens gathered again in “Square Skender Became” and then marched toward the prime minister's building.
The banners and slogans are those of previous gatherings where the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, opposition leader Sali Berisha, changing the system, abolishing changes in the law of protected areas is required.
Protesters followed calls for “New Albania”, while after the national anthem, the word was received by representatives of the organising group, who once again declared the demands unearthed in yesterday's protest by Dritan veryj.
Protesters have submitted five key requests, including the prime minister's resignation, the abolition of status and legal framework for strategic investors, the abolition of the Mountain Package, the annulment of amendments to the law for protected areas, and the annulment of changes to the Law on Cultural Heritage.
Activist Edison Lika once again read the statement with the points and demands of protest. According to him, the statement that was read yesterday by Dritan Goody, intimidated Prime Minister Rama, who personally joined him and others, so it will be good for her to read at any protest.
Lika ranked as the first point of non-negotiable resignation of the prime minister and the government, the establishment of a transitional, non-party technical government and with a 12-month mandate, constitutional changes, where all Albanian citizens are equal before the law, as well as their approval with popular referenda, including, among other things, changing the electoral code, changing the law on financing political parties and various organisations, limiting the exercise of prime minister's office in no more than two, full or partial mandates, during the entire political life of an individual.
“Paralyse, we do not give up initial demands: cancelling changes made to the law for protected areas, cancelling changes made to the Law on Cultural Heritage, abolishing the Mountain Package, as well as abolishing status and legal framework for strategic investments”, he said.
One of the protesters announced that on 4 July the diaspora will again be in Tirana to protest, the ATSH reports.
Protesters spread out after several hours marching on “Country Witnesses” and several main roads. /Periscope
