Muriqi's future relates to Fenerbahce elections

Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi may be close to a boom return to Turkish football, with Fenerbahce showing serious interest in his services.

According to reports by Turkish media, Fenerbahce's presidential candidate, Aziz Yildirim, has reached a preliminary agreement with Real Mallorcan and football itself for his transfer during the upcoming summer term.

Muriqi is said to have accepted the personal conditions of a long-term contract he would hold at the club until 2029. However, finalisation of the agreement remains closely linked to the outcome of the presidential election in the club from Istanbul.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest Mallorca had praised the Kosovo assailant's card with about 18m euros. To facilitate the transfer, Muriqi has reportedly asked the Spanish club's leaders to show flexibility in negotiations.

Meanwhile, Aziz Yildirim camp representatives have held meetings in Palma de Mallorca to discuss the details of the operation, while the race for Fenerbahce leadership continues to affect the club's Merkatos plans.

One important financial aspect is the fact that Mallorca owns the player's full rights, but the Italian club Lazio benefits 45 per cent from any future Muriq transfer, given the previous agreement between the parties.

After some positive seasons in La League, where it has turned into one of Mallorca's leading figures, Muriqi's return to Turkey could constitute one of the most important summer transfers for Turkish football.
