Meeting with Austrian Chancellor in Vienna, Kurti talks to Kosovo's CoE membership as priority

The incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has been hosted at the meeting by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Austria, Christian Stocker.
In the ZKMA communiqué, it becomes known that Kurti has expressed thanks for Austria's continued support of Kosovo since the 1990s, then in a construction state and on the European road, and also for contributing to the framework of KFOR.
While praising Austria's support of Kosovo expressed to the Committee of Ministers in Chisinau in May 2026, incumbent Prime Minister Kurti stressed that one of the highest priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo remains membership in the Council of Europe. He underlined the importance of continuing support from Austria and its role in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, said the communiques among others.

Within the framework of the official visit to Vienna, incumbent Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti was hosted at a bilate meeting by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Austria, Christian Stocker.
Acting Prime Minister Kurti expressed thanks for Austria's continued support of Kosovo since the 1990s, then in the construction state and on the European road, and also for contributing to KFOR's framework.

Acting Prime Minister Kurti said he welcomes Chancellor Stocker's statement in Tivat, that the European Union is not complete, secure and sustainable without the Western Balkans. Passy said that the Republic of Kosovo is defined, committed and dedicated on its path to membership, incumbent Prime Minister Kurti spoke of the importance of the EU responding to granting candidate state status and opening negotiations.
The meeting talked about deepening bilateral relations between Kosovo and Austria, with particular emphasis on economic and trade co-operation, investments and the important role of the mrgata, energy and digital transformation. Meanwhile, security, defence, and regional co-operation were discussed.
Acting Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Austria on the UN Security Council's non-permanent election of 2027-2028, meanwhile, admitted congratulations on victory in the June 7th early parliamentary elections.
