New bridge opening connecting the United States to Canada is again postponed

The long-awaited opening of a new bridge connecting the US and Canada has been postponed again, Canadian organisations responsible for its construction announced.
The opening ceremony of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, named after Canadian hockey legend that played for Detroit Red Wings in NHL, was scheduled for tomorrow.
“Canada and the United States have agreed to postpone the opening of the bridge to give enough time to resolve any remaining outstanding questions”, said Chuck Andary of the Winter-Detrot Bridge Authority (WDBA).
Construction began in 2018
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed earlier this week that the bridge may not be opened as planned, but that it is not a major crisis. He noted that all of them are working hard for the bridge to open as soon as possible”.
Andary said in a statement that the bridge will be a key economic connection between Canada and the United States” and that both sides are working to determine a new opening date. The organization did not explain the reasons for the delay, nor did it announce when the opening and opening ceremony could be held. /Periscope
