The American Embassy repeats the call: Kosovo to enter long-term partnership for LNG with US

The United States is now openly asking the Republic of Kosovo to join the American Natural Gas Equipment Project (LNG) and also stress support to diversify energy sources.
In a response to Gazeta Express from the US Embassy, they have said Washington officially supports initiatives for Kosovo to diversify its energy sources, Periscopi broadcasts.
This support includes the use of American coal gasification technology, the use of renewable resources, and the promotion of Kosovo to join the natural gas pipeline, which Annu Prattipati is declared last week.
The American Embassy says it is clear that Kosovo is producing enough energy to meet citizens' domestic demands.
The UN “supports initiatives to diversify energy sources in Kosovo. This includes the use of American technology for gasification of coal, local lignite, renewable energy sources and the promotion of Kosovo to join the liquid natural gas pipeline (LNG), described in our article last week. One thing is clear: Kosovo currently does not produce enough energy to cover domestic demand”, a US Embassy spokesman for Gazette Express has said.
The American Embassy further stresses that Kosovo needs to have all energy sources available in order to meet future demand growth and also reduce dependence on expensive electricity import.
Kosovo needs all available energy resources to meet expected demand increases in the future, increase diversity and energy security, as well as reduce dependence on costly electricity imports”, the American Embassy have said.
The US Embassy says the issue of diversification is not only a technical aspect of selecting an energy source, but relates to Kosovo's energy security, which will face increased demand in the future.
“Diversification is not about choosing one source over another; it is about ensuring that Kosovo has numerous reliable opportunities available to meet future increased demand”, have ended by the US Embassy
