It alerts the renowned meterologist: Europe's extreme heat is coming towards Kosovo, 82nd record could be passed when Prizren scored 40.6 degrees.

Meteorologist, think tank Rugova, has warned that the extreme heat that has engulfed several European states will come to Kosovo and the countries of the region.

He has ruled out the possibility of temperatures passing even the 1982 record when he had scored 40.6 degrees Celsius in Prizren.

The extreme heat that is breaking records in parts of Western and central Europe, the following gradual days move even across the country and the region. According to forecasts, the highest temperatures in the country are expected to reach as much as 37C on Monday from the Kosovo plains, until 39C values reach the Dukagjin plain. Locally, maximum temperatures can also reach 40C, perhaps approaching or exceed the record value of June, registered on June 26, 1982, in Prizren, 40.6C. Remember, the maximum record absolute temperatures in our country were recorded last July, marking values of 42C and 43C<1>, he said.

“> in the region, along parts of Montenegro, mainly from Podgorica, but even in some areas of Albania, the maximum is expected to mark values of 42C, locally possibly up to 43C”, Rugova has added.
