400 heat victims in Spain and France

The balances of victims from the burning heat in Europe are making steady progress with the figures of its victims. Even in Germany and Great Britain, temperatures record 40 degrees Celsius.
The burning and unprecedented heat is continuing to break every record across Europe. Germany marked the highest temperature yet remembered for this period at 41.3 degrees in Saarbrücken, while Great Britain registered the hottest June day of 37.3 degrees in Suffolk.
In Spain and France, extreme temperatures of over 40 degrees are continuing for the fourth consecutive day. Paris has strictly banned alcohol consumption in public places, as hospitals are at capacity limits, while the power grid is overloaded leaving 50,000 houses without light. Meanwhile, Italy has announced the red code in 18 large cities.
The balances of the victims continue to deteriorate. Spain officially reports 327 deaths, where more than 98% are elderly. At least 64 victims have been confirmed in France, most of them by drowning because of the influx to cool off the waters of seas, lakes, and rivers, as well as children trapped in vehicles. In Italy at least 8 people have lost their lives directly from the heat shock.
The so-called “Kube of African heat”, which has remained since last week across Europe and, according to experts, is expected to leave in the early days of July.
