Thaci's lawyer confirms delay in case against former KLA leaders

The final decision in the case of the trial against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders in the Specialised Chambers in The Hague has been postponed for 20 July 2026.
The confirmation of the postponement of the plea has been made for RTK lawyer for former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci, Luka Misetiq, who in a reply to RTK has confirmed the accuracy of reported information in the media.
“I can confirm that this is correct”, has declared Misethic in his response to the question of whether the reporting to postpone the decision on July 20th is correct.
Initially, the final decision was set to be announced on May 19th, within defined procedure deadlines. However, according to the Special Court Order, the court has 90 days to declare the verdict, with the possibility of delaying up to 60 additional days.
Thus the epilogue of one of the most important judicial processes in The Hague towards former KLA leaders is expected to become public on 20 July 2026. / RTK
