Jonathan Andic, 45, was arrested on Tuesday under suspicion of murder and faces official interrogation 18 months after his father, Isak Andic, 71, died when he jumped off a rock of about 150m, while the couple were walking in the Monserrat mountain range near Barcelona.
Jonathan has always protested his innocence and insisted that his father died accidentally, but police in Spain reopened the case in October and are treating him as a possible murder.
She also said he had a “bad relationship with his father and a “obsion” with the money, which forced him to accept financial requirements “in order to continue having a relationship with his son”.
The judge also cited police evidence suggesting that signs on earth where Isaac fell to death did not correspond to a fall or slide.
In a 17-page legal document published to the public after 45-year-old paid a guarantee of 1m euros (865,000 pounds), she claimed Jonathan had watched the mountain range ahead of their walk.
Otherwise, the arrest was conducted by the Catalan authorities as part of an investigation into the death of his father, who died in December 2024. /Periscopi
