Russian Dron has hit a residential building in Romania, wounding two people

NATO member Romania said on Friday that a fear injured two people in a southeast town during a night-long Russian attack in neighbouring Ukraine -- the first time in the war that a fears had hit a dense area with a population in Romania and caused injuries.

The incident in Romania, also a member of the European Union, is likely to increase tensions on NATO's eastern wing at a time when Ukraine's allies are concerned about spreading Russia's war on its neighbour beyond its borders, reports Reuters, broadcast Periscope.

Authorities said the fears hit the roof of a 10-floor palace in Galatia and caused an explosion.

Romania, which shares a 650km (400km) land border with Ukraine, has experienced Russian fears that have violated its air space 28 times since Moscow began attacking Kiev ports across the Danube River, Romania's defence ministry said.

"Serious breach of international law", Romania says

The ministry said it had recovered fragments of fears that had fallen in Romania 47 times.

"Romania will take the necessary diplomatic measures in response to this serious violation of international law and its airspace", Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu said at X.

"Romania has informed Allied and NATO Secretary General about the circumstances and has called for measures to accelerate the transfer of capacity against fears to Romania. "

The defence ministry said it carried out two F-16 fighter aircraft and a military helicopter to monitor the attack, adding that pilots were authorised to drop any fears. Residents of the Braila border districts, Galati and Tulcea were warned to take refuge.

Romanian law allows it to drop fears during peacetime if life or property are at risk, but has not yet done so.

Ukrainian Drons have entered Baltic countries' airspace in recent weeks, sowing confusion and increasing tensions with Russia.

In Friday's incident, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 10th floor after the scare hit the roof of the building and erupted, Romania's emergency response agency said. Two people were receiving medical treatment in the country, she said, adding that 70 persons had been evacuated.

State news agency Agerpres quoted the Galat emergency response agency as saying that one woman and her child had been taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while two others had been treated locally for panic attacks.

The entire fuel tank exploded and the fire went out, the emergency agency said.

The defence ministry said the radar lost contact with fear as it entered Galati while flying very low on land.

Deputy Interior Minister Raed Arafat, who is responsible for the emergency response agency, told private broadcaster Digi24 that the fears affected two steps of the building and damaged five vehicles. In a separate incident, a bomb-free threat was found around Basest in Romania's northwest Maramure district, and the state broadcaster said. TVR late Thursday, quoting local authorities.

Authorities were investigating the origin of the Dron, which reportedly had a wingspan of about 10 feet (10 m)), and how it happened to be in the area, TVR added.

Meanwhile, local authorities in southern Ukraine said the Izmail port in the Odessa region was attacked by several fears early Friday.

Izmail, near the Romanian border, is home to the largest Ukrainian port on the Danube River and is a strategic location often targeted.

Galati was hit for the last time in April, when a fears damaged an electric pole and a home annex, causing evacuations. Officials got him afraid to detonate his unbroken cargo from the distance. /Periscope/
