Rare virus on cruise ships three people leave after being infected with hantavirus

The World Health Organization (OBSH) has confirmed the presence of a rare species of Andes virus, the only known form of hantavirus that can be transmitted from man to man on a Dutch tourist ship, where 3 passengers have so far lost their lives.
Health authorities have also reported that three people affected by this virus have been evacuated from the ship.
“Two crew members and another thought to be infected with the virus were removed from the tourist ship”- said O BSH.
On Wednesday, the Swiss Health Ministry also confirmed that a passenger of the boatboat has been hospitalised in Zurich. Meanwhile, the Dutch company belonging to the ship revealed that two doctors specialising for infectious diseases are travelling from the Netherlands and will stay on the ship until its shift from the coast of Cape Verde.
Although concerns about the spread of the virus have increased, the World Health Organization has stated that public health risks from the hanthavirus explosion on the tourist ship remain low, calling for international flights to not create panic or limit.
Concerns about this health situation have increased since Saturday, when O BSH was informed that three passengers had lost their lives, and the suspected cause was the virus that is usually spread by rodents infected through dung and saliva.
The 149-strong tourist ship is anchored near Cape Green in Africa, and denied permission to landing passengers.
