Rama: MPB blocked our project for Pristina Hospital, under way

Citizens of Pristina continue to receive most hospital services at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), the institution where they receive specialised citizens services from all over Kosovo.
This marks an additional shipment for this centre, while failing the capitals.
In this situation, the project to build Pristina Hospital is considered one of the main investments for easing the burden in the health system.
Pristina Chairman Progress Rama said the project is under way, while accusing the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration at the time of the impasse.
Rama, in an interview for Online Economy, said the location and budget of the hospital have already been defined, while talks are being held with international investors and financial institutions.
“Na, you know that Pristina Hospital has already reached the location, and we have the budget set. Now at the investment conference, we also have private sector interest in helping us develop this project. Now we had the meeting here with both the central and international, financial institutions, which are interested in funding these processes. So we're also in the process of warning you of further steps”, Rama said.
According to him, construction of the Capital Hospital would directly influence the reduction of the shipment at QKUK, offering Pristina citizens a dedicated health institution.
Very, normal. Only Pristina, who is serving the Capital Hospital, does not have its own hospital. So in KKUK, we have citizens from other parts of Kosovo who receive services, so Pristina needs the Capital Hospital. Which we've actually had the funds from Qatar now two years ago, but we have the Internal Affairs Ministry project because they had the Ministry of Administration before. But now I'm saying, we're delaying the processes even in co-operation with the private sector”, he said.
Construction of the Pristina Hospital has been among the main promises of the current Pristina chairman, Progress Rama.
The municipality has even shared the parcel of land for its construction, as well as an initial budget for the project.
The project, under the Komuna plan, could cost 90m euros, with location in the area known as New Pristina. /Periscope
