NATO reacts after the fears attack in Romania: Russia's irresponsible action

NATO has reacted after a residential building in Romania was hit by a fears during Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure near the border.

In its statement, the Western military alliance strongly condemned Russia's actions, calling them irresponsible.

“Hers this morning, a residential building in Romania was hit by a threat, while Russia attacked Ukrainian infrastructure near the border. We condemn Russia's irresponsability of”, it says in NATO's response.

The Alliance stressed that it will continue to strengthen defence against all threats, including fearful attacks.

Remember Romania is a member of NATO and the European Union, writes Skynews.

According to Article 5, an attack on one member is considered an attack on the entire alliance. But the situation is not that simple.

When a NATO member state activates Article 5, allies can offer any form of assistance they consider necessary to respond to the situation.

This does not automatically mean military assistance, and each ally decides for himself what action he considers necessary.

Later, that aid is co-ordinated along with the rest of the alliance.

This article has only been activated once in history following the September 11 attacks to come to the aid of the United States in 2001.
