KKP fines media for alleged violations in 2025 elections, Rexha: KPM decisions evidence of institutional capture

Independent Media Commission (KPM) has gathered today to review and make decisions on 26 cases related mainly to media coverage of the February 2025 elections.
Among the decisions taken The KKP has imposed a 3 thousand-euro fine on Klan Kosova television.
According to KPM chairman Besnik Berisha, the reason for the sentence relates to the fact that “kronics have largely had fair, unbalanized and based on only one source of information related to current power”.
The president of the Kosovo Journalists' Association (AGK), Xhemajl Rexhaj, who has named KPM's reasoning as the scandalous “x2> and as the “confirmation of the capture of this institution from Vetevendosje”.
According to Raja, through these decisions it is trying to put pressure on the media in Kosovo.
Besides the Kosovo Clan, The KKP has declared fines against RTK1 and Kanal10 for alleged election-related violations. Meanwhile, decisions on T7 and Dukaagj televisions are expected during the meeting.
The AGK and civil society organisations that are monitoring the gathering have warned that at its conclusion they will come up with an official stance.
