How many Albanians returned from EU countries for three months?

Over 2 thousand Albanian citizens returned from European Union countries during the first three months of 2026.
Data released by Eurostat shows Albania ranks third among the countries of origin for the number of restored citizens, after Turkey and Georgia.
According to the report, during the first quarter of the year, 108 475 citizens of countries outside the European Union were ordered to leave a member state territory, while 3450 people returned to their countries of origin after carrying out these orders.
Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of evacuation orders has dropped by 12.8%, while the number of returns has increased by 8.1%.
Algerian citizens led the list of people who were ordered to leave the European Union, with 11 105 cases, followed by the Moroccans with 6435 and Syrians with 5 335.
Meanwhile, in terms of returns to countries of origin, Turkish citizens rank first with 3 555 people, followed by Georgians with 2 060 and Albanians with 2 050, writes Euronews. alPeriscope broadcast.
According to Eurostat, Albanian citizens accounted for 5.9% of the total of persons returned by the European Union during this period. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, the number of returning Albanians has increased by 4.6%.
Of member states, Germany achieved the largest number of returns to third countries, with 7 300 people followed by France with 375 and Poland with 260.
The report also shows that 59.6% of returns from the European Union have been conducted voluntarily, while 40.4% have been forced returns.
