“Key step towards energy independence”, Rama for the US gas deal

In his weekly notes in his posticate “Flasim”, Prime Minister Edi Rama detailed the newly signed agreement with the US on liquid gas.
Rama said this agreement helps Albania towards energy independence. He added that Albania will be supplied with natural gas from the US for a period of 20 years and that through Vlora's TEC it will produce electricity, creating a solid basis for its diversified energy sovereignty portfolio.
It was a week when we took another important step for our security and energy independence. We signed a strategic co-operation agreement for the development of the Vlora Energy Centre and supply of Albania's liquid natural gas in close partnership with the United States, Topchannel reports.
After significant investment in completing and transforming Vlora's TEC, a facility that needs to be met with another component, but which was built to work on oil and will actually work on gas, Albania will be supplied with liquid American gas for a period of 20 years, and through the TEC of Vlora will produce electricity, creating a sustainable basis for its energy sovereignty's detailed portfolio.
Along with this energy source will also significantly increase the volume of new investments, as well as Albania's capacity to feed computer data centres or artificial intelligence programmes, which will determine the next decade.
Vlora will thus be turned into an important node, whether for exploitation, but even for the export of gas through Tap, because part of this agreement is investment in the Vlora pipeline connection with Fier, where it is located and the Transadriatic Gas”, the prime minister said.
