(2 hours ago)Artane Rizvanolli, economy minister, in an interview for EURONT7 also talked about the American gas project, the one cancelled in 2021, and what is currently being discussed, Periscope broadcasts.
According to her, in 2021 the government of Kosovo chose the battery project because it was easier and faster to implement, while for delays in not realising this project has said it has been made due to changes that were made at the beginning of the Trump administration.
As for current discussions on the new US gas project, it has said this issue is not in this decade and is a project that has been realised from 2030 onward.
She has also said that those who propose gas plants should be honest and also tell about financial parameters and how much we are willing to pay.
There are three key issues for the 2021 project that citizens need to know. It wasn't about American gas at the time. At the time, it was indistinguishable where the gas would be drawn. The preliminary project has offered the key to TAP coming from Azerbaijan via Turkey to Greece and beyond to Macedonia. The phrase that the American gas was rejected was incorrect because it wasn't known where it was coming from. Second, the impression that the United States with grants would build us the gas pipeline and we didn't want it. In fact, most of it has not been planned to build with MCC grants. 83 of the 104m dollars have been planned to invest the Government of the Republic of Kosovo through credit with the BERZH. A line was to be built for SHARRCEM, one for Ferronikel, once around 20m euros of American taxpayers, while Ferronikli himself has been declared unwilling. So it had to do with financial issues, not other case”, Rizvanolli said.
The minister has indicated that the MCC condition has been the closure of Kosovo A, because Skopje's gas project -- to be physical -- has followed a 250-megawatt power plant that works six months of the year.
