Iran is preparing for new war ʹ warns an ISW report

Iran will likely be preparing for a resumption of hostilities with the US and Israel.
Thus has the expert group estimated on Tuesday the Institute for War Research (ISW), showing a series of military movements and internal security exercises as signs of active preparation for a new struggle.
The Washington-based Institute, which has published daily assessments of the war, said the Iranian regime appears to view preparations for new fighting as inseparable from preparations to suppress internal unrest.
“of Tehran's IRCG - one of the main internal security formations of the regime and the main command of the IRC in charge of security in the capital - conducted an exercise Tuesday.
IRC confirmed that it carried out the"exercise to face any movement of... The enemy", state media reported on Tuesday, writes the world media, records Telegrafi.
Separately, the Iranian Army was scheduled to perform training in Portin Mahshahr on Tuesday, about 60 miles [100 km] from Bubyan Island.
ISW stressed that the IRC Navy could use the exercises to prepare for new operations if the ceasefire breaks down or “to disperse ships” ahead of the relaunched attacks.
The institute also estimated that Tehran was trying to protect military assets by repositioning them to countries that estimated the US would not hit.
The assessment came amid reports that Iran's missile reserves have largely survived the US-Israel air campaign, which began on 28 February and were estimated to total approximately 70% of pre-war numbers.
Meanwhile, The IRC is said to be consolidating the influence on Iran's internal power structure under IRC Commander Major General Ahmad Vahid and his narrow circle, while peace talks remain blocked.
Tehran has made it clear that it will not negotiate without guarantees against future military attacks, including recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's main negotiator said on Tuesday that Washington must accept Tehran's last peace plan or face failure, as Trump warned that the ceasefire in the Middle East war was on the verge of collapse.
The war, which broke out more than two months ago, has spread throughout the Middle East and troubled the global economy despite the ceasefire, affecting hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
Both sides have refused to make concessions and have repeatedly threatened to resume fighting. /Periscope/
