US and Iran approach positions, but opposition remains

On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told state television that US and Iran's positions had been approaching over the past week, but also accused the US of"continual declaration".

Ishaq Dar, Pakistani deputy prime minister who has mediated the talks, has said that the recent negotiations are"the basis for optimism"that a positive result is"accessible".
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking to reporters in New Delhi earlier, said significant progress"was made in a possible agreement, but not the"final progress".
He hinted about the news on Hormuz Strait, said Iran"could never have a nuclear weapon"and added that there is still"working to do".
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have issued statements welcoming progress reports, where both claimed Iran should not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. /Periscope/
