Haradinaj: Kurti's power plans to undermine press freedom, a prime minister attacking media, attacks democratic state

AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj says that Albin Kurti's power “plans to stamp out” press freedom in Kosovo.
He wrote in a Facebook post that “a prime minister who attacks the media essentially attacks one of the main pillars of the democratic state. He lynchs and tries to drive with the wrong intent”
Ramush Haradinaj's mailing:
Freedom of the press, the space Kurt's power plans to choke.
Today, we have very few newspapers printed. The time we miss comes in our memory as respect.
The Scriptures and opinions, however, are present today on another platform - electronic.
And of course, we have to protect him as yesterday, today and tomorrow as the cause even further.
Freedom of the press is not media privilege, but is the foundation of democracy. It is the voice that holds the power, the mirror that tells society the truth, even when it is difficult to listen.
A state that respects the media, respects its citizen.
Respect for journalism should not be selective, nor conditioned by the questions it asks or the topics it addresses. The journalist is not an opponent, but a partner in building a transparent society.
From coverage and field research, to documentaries that bring unuttered stories, from everyday chronics to research that require months of work and dedication, so each contribution is public service.
After every news item we read or see, there is a team of people who often work in difficult conditions, long hours, and with great responsibility.
A special assessment also belongs to cameramen and technical teams, those who are always on the front line, in the rain, in the cold, in unexpected events, documenting the reality as it is. Without them, the truth would often remain invisible.
Unfortunately, today we have developed a climate where we often hear offensive language from the top of power against the media. This serves neither democracy nor citizens' faith. The criticism of the media is fair, but it should be argumentative, not deignive.
A prime minister who attacks the media essentially attacks one of the main pillars of the democratic state. He runs and tries to drive with bad intentions.
I believe in another approach.
In an open, correct and honest report with the media. There will be no doors closing, no deviations from questions, and, above all, no derogatory language. Because it is our responsibility, not to choose questions, but to answer them.
The media must be free, independent and protected. Journalists should feel safe in their work, based on their mission. And we, as political representatives, must be guarantors of this environment.
I am at their side, not to be used, but to be respected. Not to keep quiet, but to listen.
Because a free media society is a silent society. And I believe in a Kosovo where the voice of truth never stops.
