The Gjakova harassment case, KOMF urges justice bodies to take action

The Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection (KOMF) has expressed concern over the reported case in the Gjakova municipality, where a school principal is suspected of sexual harassment against a 17-year-old school student girl.
Through a Facebook post, the KOMF called on law and order bodies to take all necessary actions and measures, in line with legislation in force, ensuring random priority treatment, immediate child support and justice deployment. KOMF says it requires full accountability and transparency in handling the case, so that such cases do not go unpunished.
“KOMF calls for strengthening mechanisms to verify educational personnel, through professional integrity assessment, respect for ethical standards and child protection mechanisms, aimed at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in educational institutions, as well as implementation of compulsory and ongoing training for staff on child protection and preventing abuse”, the KOMF post says.
In addition, the KMF has urged children and peers to report any behavior, action, or situation that violates their integrity, dignity, and security.
