Carafano: US is seeking partnership in region, Kosovo has issued many opportunities, and I see it interacting

James Carafano, American defence expert and part of the Heritage Foundation, has criticised Kosovo for not doing enough to look forward to American interest in the region. He has said the US and American government are looking for partnerships and people who make concrete agreements, but says such a thing is being seen on the [...] side.
He has said the US and the US government are seeking partnerships and people who make concrete agreements, but says such a thing is being seen on the part of Kosovo.
I think that Kosovo and the United States have always had strong relations. Kosovo is probably one of the most pro-American countries in Europe. I think it's very important that Americans understand that. But, if I'm honest, I think Kosovo has left many untapped opportunities. We have an American government that wants to work with this region, which wants to create partnerships, which requires people to go to the US and bring concrete agreements to the table. And, frankly, I don't think we're seeing this”, Carafano said in an interview. T7, broadcast Periscope.
He has also mentioned a conference organised by the American Economic Oda and says no one from the Kosovo government has been. According to him, it is time to embrace American partnership and not be ignored.
There was a big conference a few days ago with the American Chamber of Commerce, and I don't believe someone from the government took part in it. I don't understand that. Now it's time to embrace the American partnership, not ignore it”, Carafano said.
He has added that it is time for deepening the strategic partnership with the US and that anyone who comes to Government should have such a focus.
It is not our duty to choose winners and losers in places or choices, we focus on the relationship between states. I think that a strategic partnership with the United States is very important for Kosovo, especially now because this presidential administration under President Trump has shown a great deal of interest in this part of Europe and especially in the region. We have just announced a major gas pipeline deal with Croatia and Bosnia, massive investments in Croatia in data centres, big investments in Greece. The US has just announced a major investment in Poland. So I think now is the time to really deepen this strategic partnership. And I'd say that whoever leads the government, his focus should really be on engagement with the United States and building this partnership. ” has declared Carafano. /Periscope
