Britain Sends Landfalls, Airplanes, and Warships at Hormuz Strait

British Defence Minister John Healey has announced that the United Kingdom will contribute to fears, fighter planes and a warship on a multinational mission to secure Hormuz Strait.
He made the announcement after a meeting with 40 defence ministers, where he was discussed supporting a British-led mission to protect shipping on this strategic road, which is affected by an Iranian blockade.
According to the Defence Ministry, Britain will send autonomous mine-clearing equipment, anti-dime systems, Typhoon planes and HMS Dragon ship, as part of a defence mission to guarantee freedom of navigation, Telegraph reports Periscope.
Healey stressed that the mission is “defender”, adding that the goal is to increase the safety of commercial transport and reduce the impact of global conflict.
Hormuz Strait remains limited to most sea traffic, causing serious consequences in global trade, energy supply and food prices.
By contrast, Iran has reportedly thrown thousands of mines into the sea where the Strait of Hormuz is located. /Periscope
