Two American soldiers disappear during training “African Leon” in Morocco

Two members of US forces participating in joint military exercises African Lion were reported missing near the town of Tan Tan in southern Morocco, the American Command for Africa (AFRICOM) and the Royal Morocco Armed Forces said Sunday, Reuters reports.
American, Moroccan and other partners have launched coordinated search-saving operations, including land, air and sea vehicles, to find members of forces that disappeared near the Cap Draa training area, both armies said in separate statements.
The Moroccan army said forces disappeared near a rock.
The incident remains under investigation and research is continuing, they added.
African Lion is the largest annual joint exercise of the American Command for Africa, aimed at improving interoperability between American forces, NATO allies and African partner countries.
This year's edition takes place from April 27th to May 8th in four countries: Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.
Most of the exercises are held in Morocco, with about 5,000 people from more than 40 countries participating, according to A. FRICOM.
