Albanian Mira Murati shakes Musk-Altman trial for OpenAI, this is her testimony

The trial between Titans of technology, Elon Musk and Sam Altman, has highlighted some of the most messy parts of the OpenAI establishment. The process has entered on Monday in the third week, bearing evidence concerning the past and leadership.

Musk's lawyers have used ex-directors, private messages, journal notes and email exchanges to present Altman as unbelievable.

Altman, who denies Musk's allegations, is expected to testify in the coming days, reports The Guardian, broadcast Clankosova. tv

Although Musk's case is based on allegations that OpenAI and Altman have violated a founding agreement by turning the company from a nonprofit organisation to a profitable structure, the trial has often given the impression of a struggle for public relations more than a debate on corporate governance.

Altman's leadership and credibility have long been the subject of research in the technology industry and have been widely documented, including a recent article in The New Yorker, where other technology figures suggested that Altman had deceptive tendencies.

Altman's former allies call it unbelievable.

In court last week, the jury heard the video testimony from Mira Murati, the former director of technology at OpenAI and once a very close Altman associate, in which she accused him of “creating chaos” in the company.

Murati, who left OpenAI in 2024, testified that Altman had a pattern of behavior where “said one thing and quite otherwise another” broadcasts Clancosova. tv

The court also saw text messages from Altman to Murat in 2023, during a short period when the OpenAI board dismissed him from office of CEO, accusing him of being a fraud in his conduct.

Before returning to duty five days later, amid an internal struggle for power, Altman sent Murat a series of questions about how the board was deciding on its destiny. She described a future far different from what would happen next, where Altman would be disfellowshipped forever.

“0> Can you generalize whether it's good or bad?” wrote Altman Murati about his prospects.

“generally, very bad,” responded to Murati.

“Okay,” returned it to Altman.

Murati was one of several witnesses who talked about Altman's personal and professional behavior, Klankosova reports. tv

Former board member Helen Toner, who supported Altman's departure, declared through the video that there was “a behavioral pattern related to his honesty and honesty”, which led to his dismissal.

While Natasa McCauley, another former OpenAI board member, claimed in her testimony that Altman had caused “repeated criticism” through his mode of direction.

Musk's lawyers on Monday also called to witness OpenAI co-founder and former science chief Ilija Sutsever. Sutscepver, who was also a member of the board that fired Altman and left OpenAI in 2024, said he had concerns about how he managed the company and its authenticity.
