Over 800kg of tobacco and other goods in Ferizaj are seized, more than 34 thousand euros in excises avoid

Kosovo police have announced the seizure of a large quantity of smuggled goods in the town of Ferizaj, following an operation conducted by the Task Force Task Unit DRUK South.
According to the official announcement, on May 5, 2026, police have accepted information about the existence of a suspected depot where smuggled goods were stored.
Following the operational and investigative action company, an alleged male Kosovo male, who allegedly used this warehouse for the preservation of illegally introduced goods from northern Macedonia in Kosovo, has been identified.
By order of the competent prosecutor, police have conducted control in the suspected location, where they have been seized: 800.4kg of processed tobacco, 94kg of honey, 30.4kg of plastic ambalms, 178kg of paper ambalbulance, a tobacco processing machine, and a tobacco processing spray.
The overall value of seized goods is estimated to be around 16,500 euros, while excise evasion and customs duties amount to about 34,000 euros.
After the police action was completed, seized goods have been handed over to Kosovo Customs for further legal procedures. Investigations concerning the case are under way. /Periscope
