5.6th of May 7th- These are deadlines for political parties, observers and voter registration outside Kosovo for early elections

This week is expected to be heavily in charge of the Central Election Commission, as some of the most important deadlines for political parties are completed, while new processes weighing on voters simultaneously begin.
By Thursday, May 7th, political parties registered in Kosovo must report the CEC for participation or non-participation in elections and for forming coalitions.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, May 5th, voter registration outside Kosovo will begin applying for the accreditation of observers and media, and on Wednesday, May 6th, the census will begin and, in advance, the CEC will approve the list of diplomatic representatives, as well as the maximum number of voters that can be registered for physical voting in embassies and consulates.
On the same date, on May 6th, the CEC will open the electronic platform to enable the change of the polling centre within the municipality and enable inaccuracies on the voting list.
As far as political parties are concerned, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has clarified for Online Economy that the announcement of participation or participation in the elections, as well as the formation of coalitions, is due only to 53 political parties currently registered and active in Kosovo.
“All political parties registered in Kosovo are charged that, within a 7-day term, starting May 1st and ending on May 7th, the CEC report on participation or non-participation in early elections for the Kosovo Assembly. This obligation applies only to 53 political parties currently part of the Kosovo political party register, and does not include subjects aiming to compete as civic initiatives or independent candidates. Also, by May 7th, political parties that want to participate in this election through the coalition should report to the CEC that they want to compete in this election in this way”, Elez said.
Elez has indicated that on Tuesday, May 5th, time will begin for application for accrediting election observers and at their disposal will be 26 days, by 30 May.
“Certified political subjects, NGOs, government and intergovernmental organisations, specialised international organisations dealing with elections and human rights protections, media and representatives of foreign countries can online submit their demand for observer accreditation from May 5th to May 30th. The survey is of great importance to ensure transparency and credibility in the election process, so the CEC encourages all monitoring organisations to take their role in monitoring the” elections, Elez said.
According to the CEC, the following day, on May 6th, the deadline for registering voters outside Kosovo will begin, but in advance, the CEC will approve the list of polling stations in diplomatic representation.
The voter census outside Kosovo will begin on May 6th and end on May 17th. So during this 12-day period, Kosovo citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters abroad, choosing to vote through mail or in a diagnostic representation. Before the start of this period, the CEC will approve the list of polling centres in diplomatic representation, as well as assign the maximum number of voters who can register for voting at an embassy and consulate”, Elez explained.
On the same date, on May 6th, the CEC will open the electronic platform to enable the change of the polling centre within the municipality and enable inaccuracies on the voting list.

Also, the CEC will enable opposition to inaccuracies on the preliminary voter list. From May 6th 18th, every person with a fair vote that doesn't figure on the Vote List has been wrongly assigned to the next poll, or has other incorrect data, may request CEC revision. The voter list may also be opposed to any name of any voters for whom it could be claimed that it should not be found on this list, including when figuring out the name of any dead person.
