Former Dutch Ambassador to Kosovo, Robert Bosch, has reacted to political deadlock in the country over the election of the president, calling for compromise among political parties.
Bosch has stressed that it would be problematic for Kosovo unless the president's election is achieved, warning that the new elections would not change the current situation.
“For the good of the country: compromise!”, Bosch has declared.
His statement comes at a time when the political scene in Kosovo is facing uncertainty about the president's election process and the possibility of new elections in case of failing to reach agreement by April 28th.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has warned that if the president's election is not achieved, the country could go to a series of successive elections, blaming the opposition for lack of political will.
Meanwhile, the President's task officer, Haxhiu Albulen, has expressed readiness for political movements in the direction of unblocking the situation, but has questioned the opposition parties' readiness for compromise.
The political situation remains unclear as the constitutional deadline for election of the president approaches.
