The Kosovo Assembly at today's plenary session has adopted in the second reading a series of important bills affecting various areas such as economy, health, education and social issues, while debates are characterised by different positions and opposition.
Among the adopted bills is he for Substantial Base Product Measures at Special Trade Destabilisation Cases, known as the law for “ceiling prices”, which was voted 63 votes for, without objections and abstentions.
However, the opposition rejected its way of drafting, voicing concerns about the possibility of arbitrariity, until the Government stressed that the law would only be implemented in cases of market destabilisation and a limited number of basic products.
With extensive support has been adopted Healthcare Obligation Bill by 80 votes for, with no opposition or abstention.
Representatives of institutions described it as a step towards health insurance for citizens, while the opposition called for careful implementation and more debate, raising concerns about practical functionality.
The Assembly has also approved Bill for Mediterranean Games “Pristina 2030” by 64 votes for, as well as Kosovo State Bill with 69 votes for, two against and no abstention, for which there were objections from opposition parties regarding procedures and content.
Likewise, MPs have voted several other bills, including on Funding Water Insurance Management(68 votes for) Social Residence and Faceable (71 votes per), for Testing of the State Matura (66 votes for), Plasse Subject Bill (72 votes for).
So did the Parliament. The Bill on Change and Fulfilling of the Accounting Law, Financial Reporting and Audition, as well Paying Services Bill.
The session was marked by numerous discussions, while the parliamentary majority secured votes for the adoption of bills despite criticism and reservations expressed by the opposition.
