In her reaction, O VL KLA stresses that failure to implement legal guarantees for language use constitutes not only procedural violations but also direct violation of human dignity and social stability in the country.
The statement also notes that Albanians historically did not violate the languages of other communities, but instead require equal treatment for their language.
Full communication:
O V L The KLA stands firm behind Albanian students protesting in northern Macedonia for the protection of an unnegotiable right. The legitimate use of the mother tongue never submits to the fit of governments. When a state refuses to implement established legal guarantees, failure goes beyond procedure. Such disobedience directly attacks human dignity, along with the fragile peace that that state claims to protect.
Historically, Albanians have never suppressed the language of neighbouring populations. We do not seek to erase the identity of any nation, nor to humiliate communities that live near us. However, our language continues to face restrictions and secondary status in territories that are historically Albanian.
The handing of the law test in the mother tongue represents the minimum obligation of Macedonian authorities and their Albanian political allies. Such youths are entitled to resist and deserve unconditional support, not voices of care and discretion. Albanian dignity will neither be managed nor eliminated.
