One of Kosovo's biggest fugitives transported students to Pristina

Gashi is suspected of the serious crime of killing a young man in downtown Lipjan in the summer of 2022. From then on, he was on the run from the authorities of justice.

A few days after the assassination, the 26-year-old had escaped the hands of police officers who had been searching for him while continuing to take refuge in Serbia for a while. It is alleged that he had returned to Kosovo through document talk. He lived in Pristina under a false identity.

As the Justice Court reported Monday, Gashi allegedly worked for several months last year as a student transport driver at primary school “Independence” in the capital.

A person with a thick criminal record, Muhamet Gashi was introduced to children and parents named “Albin Behram”.

Wednesday, April 15th, was the last day on Gashi's nearly four-year run.

He was detained Wednesday while taking refuge in a Pristina residence.

At the apartment, he wasn't alone. Police officials there managed to apprehend another person suspected of criminal acts committed in co-operation with the top suspect.

“During the raid on the apartment where the suspects were found and two pistols and bullets of various calibres have been confiscated, various documents allegedly forged that have used suspects to hide the identity and fraud of citizens”, police said in the statement.

On August 5th 2022, in a coffee shop in downtown Lipjan, 22-year-old D.G. He was shot to death by gun shooting. The murder was allegedly committed by Muhamet Gashi and Gazmend Selimi.

Selimi had surrendered to the police about two weeks after the crime, even though a day after the murder the two suspects had managed to flee from police officials in front of their hands.

Determined in search since the night of August 5, the day after the murder, August 6, 2022 Gashi and Selimi had managed to escape even after being detained by a police patrol in the village of Novoselle in Kamenica.

Verification of the driver of this vehicle and checking his documentation had been made for suspects to flee.

The story was allegedly happening in the late hours, while police were checking a person who was driving the car where the two suspects were for serious murder. They apparently played very well at first because they didn't make any moves when the patrol ordered this car to stop. Suspects used the time when police were dealing with the driver, took that car and left the scene.

As the signal portal wrote, the car with which the two fugitives were traveling was later found abandoned near Karacheva.

While Selimi had surrendered to authorities about two weeks later, Gashi allegedly fled to Serbia and managed to return to Kosovo through forged documents.
