“Trump, imposing a siege and violating the ceasefire, seeks to turn this negotiating table into his imagination ʹ into a delivery table or to justify the new warmonger”, said Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, a key negotiator for Iran.
“We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats, and, in the last two weeks, we are prepared to uncover new cards on the battlefield”, he added in an X post.
This comes at a time when the US and Iran have sent mixed signals about the second proposed round of talks in Islamabad.
The first round of peace talks between the US and Iran was held in Islamabad on 11-12 April, but ended without agreement, even though Trump has insisted that both sides “are very close to a” agreement. /abcnews. al
