Iran attacks a container ship near the Strait of Hormuz

The ship was approached by a warship belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which gave no warning on the radio before the “flew over the ship”, the maritime authority said.

The crew was reported safely, writes CNN. The report gave no additional details on the ship, such as the state of its flag or current location.

The latest attack comes after several other incidents of recent days. Last Saturday, New Delhi said two Indian-flagged ships were shot as they traveled through the straits.
