The Guardian: Europe risks new impact with Trump due to US gas pipeline in Bosnia

Disagreements for Ukraine and the Iran war appear to be followed by a European Union effort to prevent a gas pipeline project planned to be realised in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is owned by Trump's personal lawyer.

The Guardian report supports a document he saw.

The “ubation will pass through Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under pressure from US officials for months, according to Bosnian sources, its leaders have acted quickly to give the contract to a company, previously known as the first, headquartered at Wyoming”, writes The Guardian, pointing out it's about the AAFS Infrastructure and Energy company.

The company is run by two key members of Trump's campaign, Jesse Beanall, a lawyer who defended the American president against charges of inciting the Capitol riots after his defeat, and Joe Flynn, brother of the president's former national security adviser.

As British medium writes, following the adoption of legislation establishing that the contract will go to the company in question, institutions in Sarajevo have received a warning from Brussels that they risk risk Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the EU, Express reports.

“In a letter sent on April 13th, provided by the Bosnian investigative portal Istraga.ba and the first by Guardian, EU official Louis Soreca wrote that, under an agreement on energy between Bosnia and Brussels, it was “that the bills be fully co-ordinated” with the EU at”, writes The Guardian.

. “In this way, Bosnia and Herzegovina can continue to progress on its European path and avoid losing opportunities for further integration, as well as financial opportunities”, Soreca wrote.

Binnall has said the pipeline is a <x0); priority for the Trump” administration.

Asked about the EU intervention, Trump's lawyer has stated that “AAFS will never forget what really matters in this project: providing energy security and promoting economic development for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are committed to closely co-operating with all relevant authorities to develop the infrastructure needed to make this vision a reality. ”

Connecting Bosnia to a liquid natural gas terminal near the Croatian coast, the pipeline would allow American gas to reach a country that depends on Russia for all its supply.

After Russian President Vladimir Putin began the total invasion of Ukraine from Russia in 2022, Brussels set a deadline for EU members and aspiring members, like Bosnia, to stop buying Russian gas by 2028.
