Kosovo police were attacked by a group of armed Serbs on September 24th 2023 in Banjska, Zvecan. As a result, a police sergeant was killed, while three Serb attackers were killed during the ongoing shootout.
Tollic, Spasojevic and Maksimovic are only three of the 45 people involved in the indictment for the attack on Banjska, which Kosovo describes as terrorist and blames Serbia for.
The three accused have denied the charges and claimed they were not intent on killing anyone, much less uniting Kosovo's north with Serbia, as the indictment says.
The responsibility for the armed attack on Banjska has been taken by Milan Radoic, former deputy chairman of the Serbian List, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, who enjoys official Belgrade's support.
For Radocicin and the other 41 indictees on this case on the run, prosecutors had sought trial in absentia, but the Constitutional Court rejected their request as being “equipped”.
Forty-two suspects are charged with terrorism, grave acts against Kosovo's constitutional order and security, while Radojic is also accused of facilitating and financing in carrying out terrorism, as well as of laundering money. /Kosovo priss
